Sam, an aspiring screenwriter, and David, a successful magazine editor, have been pals for years. When David doesn’t appreciate Sam’s latest screenplay, it opens a fissure in their friendship, one that spreads through to the rest of their lives. Ultimately, both men must reevaluate their motivations to write, their need for praise and validation, and what it means to see yourself as you actually are.

SMACKED! Addiction and Recovery in Rural America

Addiction is easy. Recovery is not. Rural America has been hit hard by the opioid epidemic, but hope is alive as well. SMACKED! tells the story of how law enforcement and the health care community are coping with the heroin epidemic that has swept the rural Western Catskill mountains of New York State. The film features stakeholders primarily located in Delaware and Otsego Counties in mid-state New York. Through the creativity of the law enforcement and recovery communities, unique education, awareness and prevention programs have been created despite the scarce availability of funding. By focusing on recovering addicts and health professionals, SMACKED! humanizes the addict and addresses the dangerous stigma around addition and recovery.

Drugs as Weapons Against Us: The CIA War on Musicians and Activists

This film covers the CIA's involvement in drug trafficking and the promotion of drugs for social control. It details evidence of the CIA's Project MK-Ultra manipulating musicians and activists to promote drugs. It also details evidence of U.S. intelligence "neutralizing" these figures when they sobered up. It further shows the evidence that U.S. intelligence mostly targeted anti-war and anti-racism activists, such as leaders of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and The Black Panthers. The musicians it covers includes Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Tupac Shakur, Janis Joplin, and The Rolling Stones, among others.
